New Beginnings

For a lot of people, January 1st is the time for new beginnings, a time to look at your life and evaluate where you are at and where you want to be.  You come up with a plan to make changes and start to implement them into your life and routine.  Even though I do look at January as a new beginning,  September is actually more my time.  We've just finished a couple of months of no routine, no school and a lot of fun.  The last few weeks of August we get the kids ready for school, plan our routine and I look at this as a time to get serious and do some life planning and evaluation after a few months of playing.

The last few weeks I've been getting things in order like normal, but I felt like I needed more.  I really have a beautiful life with a supportive, helpful and loving partner, 5 kids who I adore, 2 beautiful but crazy dogs, a job that pays me well and considers my role as mom and is flexible, a Rav4, and 2 Harleys in our driveway.  What more could a person ask for? Yet I have this feeling of being unsatisfied...of wanting more.  I had dreams and goals and due to life circumstances, I put them on hold.  I did what I needed to do for my family and then I got comfortable here.  Life is good, but life could be great! I sat down and asked myself what is it I wanted, where do I want to go?  I came up with the plan and now I need to implement it.

One of my life goals is to become a Holistic Nutritionist, to help people discover their best lives ever through food and exercise. How can I do that when I don't have my own life in order? When I'm not living my best life?

This fall is the new beginning! I want to become healthy! Not just in my body but also in my mind and soul.  Health is not just what you eat, it's so much more! It's rest, it's what you feed your mind, it's you mental state, it's many things.  This blog is about the journey, the journey to finding true health for me and my family.  It's about the growing pains, the struggles, the victories and the wins.  As I learn, I will share and hope to encourage you to take this journey as well.

I'm excited about this new chapter, and I'm excited about reaching my destination!
